Surface of chalice is divided into 12 arches. Under each arch there is depicted each figure, which includes Virgin Mary, Jesus ''sitting on the throne'' and ten apostles. Chalice later lost a strut and in 16th century it was restored by the Metropolitan of Bedia, Germane Chkhetidze.
